SERVICE 03

Puncture assessment

Some punctures can be professionally repaired. Others require replacement because of damage location, tyre condition or evidence the tyre was used while seriously underinflated.

Car & van tyres

Cars, estates, SUVs and light commercial vans do not always use the same tyres, even where some dimensions look alike. The proper specification is essential for safety and vehicle suitability.

Safe-location assistance

When a tyre problem happens near fast-moving traffic, where the vehicle is stopped can determine whether any mobile work is appropriate. Sometimes recovery or road-authority assistance is needed first.

Not sure which service you need?

You don't need to diagnose the issue. Tell us what best describes the problem and we'll show a relevant guide. This is educational guidance, not a tyre diagnosis or an availability check.

SAFETY BEFORE SPEED

Where can assistance take place?

A suitable stopping place makes all the difference. A hard shoulder or emergency area is not the same as a safe workshop.

Motorway services

Designated parking locations may provide a more suitable setting for a professional assessment, subject to access, permission and safe conditions.

Often worth discussing first

Safely off the motorway

A suitable accessible car park or off-road location may allow a tyre enquiry to be assessed, depending on space and the work required.

Location-specific assessment

Hard shoulder or emergency area

Do not plan tyre work here as a normal service. Follow official breakdown guidance. Recovery or road-authority involvement may be needed.

Follow safety guidance first

If you cannot reach a safer place: follow the Highway Code. If you are in a live lane or cannot exit safely, stay belted with hazards on and call 999 for the police.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

A few details can move things forward.

Different vehicles require different tyres. The full sidewall marking helps identify the tyre specification without guessing. Never approach the tyre to read it if doing so would put you near moving traffic.

GOOD QUESTIONS, CLEAR ANSWERS

Before you request assistance.

Explore common questions about punctures, fitting and how MOTO WAY handles enquiries.

Can a tyre be fitted at motorway services?

A service station may be more suitable than a motorway emergency stopping area, but access, permission, space, equipment and available technicians must still be assessed.

Can every punctured tyre be repaired?

No. Repair suitability depends on a complete professional inspection, the damage location, tyre condition and whether the tyre has been driven severely underinflated.

Do you handle van tyre requests?

We can review car and light van tyre enquiries. The proper commercial tyre specification, load index and fitting resources must be confirmed.

Is there a guaranteed arrival time?

No. Any arrival time is subject to your precise location, safe access and confirmed availability. This website does not show a live technician network.

Will I know the price before work begins?

Any proposed charges and service arrangements should be explained and agreed before work starts.

Does sending a form confirm a booking?

No. Sending a form creates an enquiry only, not a confirmed technician, tyre, quote or dispatch.
