Motorway tyre trouble: safety first
If your vehicle develops a problem, aim for a service station or exit if it is safe to do so. If you cannot leave, follow the official steps to go left, get safe and get help.
If it is safe to exit, leave from the side away from traffic and wait behind a safety barrier where available. If you are stuck in a live lane or cannot get out safely, remain in the vehicle with seatbelt and hazard lights on and call 999.
Do not attempt your own repairs on the motorway or use a warning triangle there.
