THE JOURNEY

Six steps. One clearer process.

Every situation is different, but the questions we ask and the safety principles remain consistent. Follow the stages below to understand what to expect.

BEFORE YOU CONTACT US

Get yourself and others to safety first.

If it is safe and possible, leave the motorway at the next exit or service area. If you cannot leave, follow official motorway breakdown guidance. Never put yourself in danger to inspect a tyre or attempt a repair at the roadside.

If you are stranded in a live lane, cannot get to a place of safety, or anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 and request the police. Roadside tyre work can only be discussed after the safety situation is understood.

HELP US FIND YOU

Tell us your location as clearly as possible.

Share the motorway or road number, your direction of travel and the nearest junction, services or safe stopping point. For example: “M6 southbound, near Junction 13, safely stopped at services.” On the M25, say clockwise or anticlockwise if known.

You may also share an accurate postcode or location pin if available. Only check road signs, your phone or other information once it is safe to do so. A clear location helps the team review whether assistance is feasible.

YOUR VEHICLE AND TYRE

Describe the problem and identify the tyre.

Explain what happened: puncture, a tyre losing pressure, visible damage, a blowout or a suspected wheel problem. Include the vehicle type and registration or make/model when requested through the appropriate channel.

If you already know the tyre size, share it in a format such as 205/55 R16, together with any load/speed rating or special marking. Never approach traffic or an unsafe side of the vehicle to read a tyre sidewall.

CHECK THE OPTIONS

We review what assistance may be suitable.

With your location and vehicle details, the request can be assessed against actual service availability, safe access, tyre specification and any specialist requirements. Some tyres may be repairable; others require replacement. Inspection and technician assessment determine the appropriate work.

Where a service option is possible, the team can discuss the next steps, any quoted charges and proposed arrangements. Sending a website form is not a booking confirmation or a dispatch instruction.

WHEN ASSISTANCE IS CONFIRMED

Work takes place at a suitable safe location.

Mobile tyre fitting or assessment requires a location where the work can be carried out safely and legally. A motorway service area or another appropriate off-road stopping place may be suitable, depending on circumstances and permission.

Tyre work should not be attempted in a live traffic lane or in conditions that expose people to moving vehicles. When the location is unsuitable, an authorised recovery or relocation arrangement may be required before work can begin.

FINISH WITH CONFIDENCE

Check the work before returning to your journey.

After any agreed service, confirm what was carried out, the fitted tyre specification, charges and any aftercare information. Follow the technician’s instructions on tyre pressures, wheel security, TPMS warnings and any recommended checks.

Only continue when the vehicle is safe and roadworthy. If further mechanical faults remain, ask for appropriate advice or recovery instead of driving on.

TYRE SIZE EXPLAINED

What does 205/55 R16 mean?

Tyre sizes are usually marked on the sidewall. This interactive example shows three key parts of a common tyre-size code. It is only a guide: your full tyre specification may also include load, speed, construction and other markings.

/
205 — tyre width

Approximate nominal width in millimetres, measured across the tyre’s section.

Do not guess or substitute an incompatible tyre size. If you are not sure, provide your vehicle details when safe and let the tyre specification be confirmed.

YOUR SITUATION

Where are you currently stopped?

Choose a scenario below to understand the general next step. This illustration does not assess live danger, guarantee a callout or replace emergency services.

At a motorway service station

Share the service station name, your vehicle and tyre details. We can review whether mobile assistance could be arranged at that location. No service is confirmed until availability and safety are checked.

TRANSPARENT DECISIONS

What affects your options and quote?

There is no single price that suits every roadside tyre problem. The team may need to consider:

Tyre specification

Tyre size, load and speed ratings, special markings, stock and compatibility with your vehicle.

Where you are

Your road, direction, access, whether the location is suitable for safe work and the distance involved.

Type of assistance

Assessment, repair or replacement possibilities, specialist equipment and whether recovery is needed.

Agreed costs

Any proposed tyre and service charges should be explained before you agree. An enquiry alone is not a quotation.

What happens after a form is sent?

Your details reach the website’s enquiry system. A team member must still review them and confirm availability, any price and the next steps before assistance is arranged.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions.

Practical answers to common questions about roadside and motorway tyre assistance in the UK.

More tyre advice ↗
Can I send an assistance request from anywhere in the UK?

Yes, the online form accepts enquiries from the UK. However, actual assistance is dependent on genuine local capacity, your stopping location and safe access. A national website does not mean that a technician is available everywhere.

How quickly could someone arrive?

Any arrival window depends on the location, time, technician availability, traffic and the requirements of the job. We cannot promise a specific ETA until the team reviews and confirms the arrangement.

Can a tyre be changed on a motorway hard shoulder?

Roadside safety comes first. Do not attempt your own tyre repairs on a motorway. Mobile work must only happen where it is safe and appropriate; recovery to a service station or other suitable location may be necessary.

What if I do not know my tyre size?

Tell us your vehicle type and, if you already know it, the tyre size. You can find it on a tyre sidewall only when safe to check. Other details such as load index and speed rating may also be required.

Can a puncture be repaired rather than replaced?

Some punctures can be repaired if the tyre meets the relevant safety and repairability requirements. Sidewall damage and other faults can make a tyre unsuitable for repair. A competent assessment is needed before a decision.

Can you help with run-flat or van tyres?

Tell us the complete tyre specification and vehicle type. Whether assistance is available depends on suitable stock, technical requirements and a safe working location.

Will I know the price before work begins?

Any proposed service and costs should be discussed and agreed before work is arranged. The website form does not generate a binding quote or guarantee the availability of a particular tyre.

Does submitting the form confirm a booking?

No. The form creates an enquiry. Dispatch, attendance, prices and response times require separate confirmation from the team.

Can I use the form if I am in immediate danger?

Do not rely on an online form for an emergency. If you are in immediate danger, call 999. Follow official motorway breakdown advice and only share information when safe.

What information should I provide about my location?

Road number, direction, nearest junction or services, where you are safely stopped and any relevant access information. On the M25, clockwise or anticlockwise is particularly useful.

READY FOR YOUR NEXT STEP?

Tell us what happened. We’ll explain what comes next.

Provide your location, vehicle and tyre details so the available assistance options can be reviewed. Your safety remains the priority.
